Contax I(a) (540/24) version 2 with 1 dimple

These cameras were made in Dresden between 1932-1936. They had a black enamel finish. The bodies had a square boxy shape. The winding knob was on the front of the camera to the right of the lens. There were several variations. The I(a) version was the first circa 1932/33 version, and had serial numbers starting with AU or AV. There were no slow speeds below 1/25th of a second. They often had raised dimples over the ends of shafts (see above the winding knob). The tripod socket had no fold out foot.
